In Spring 2018, the Mississippi Legislature passed HB 708, and the Governor signed the legislation into law. This law takes effect on July 1, 2018, and establishes a provisional license (P-LPC). Current supervisees receiving supervision hours with a contract and agreement filed with the Board will be considered a member of the Transitional Cohort.
The Board established a pathway for you to obtain the P-LPC. Correspondence is being sent to you via email and mail regarding this pathway.
Current Supervisees will have 90-days from July 1, 2018, to take advantage of this opportunity to apply for the P-LPC as a member of the Transitional Cohort.  If you do not apply before September, 30, 2018, Supervisees will lose status as a member of the Transitional Cohort and must meet the new requirements for licensure.
Beginning October 1, 2018, if you are not a P-LPC, then you will not be allowed to accrue hours toward licensure. No exceptions will be allowed by the Board.
If you are planning to apply for provisional licensure, but do not have an agreement and contract for supervision on file with the Board by July 1, additional information will be available to you regarding the licensure process.  This information will be posted on or after July 1, 2018.
